Cooperating with our strategic partner Acromet, we offer our customers a wide range of Volumetric and Gravimetric Dry Material Feeders. These type of feeder applications can be applied in many different kinds of industries, including food, formula batching, mining, plastics and water treatment industries. The systems are designed to accurately meter, and-or transfer dry   materials in many forms, such as powders, granules, chips, chunks and flakes. The Dry Material Handling Equipment is manufactured and designed in Australia and is available in the following constructions: Mild Steel, Industrial Stainless Steel and Stainless Steel (Food Quality Finish).

Dry Material Feeders

It’s a prerequisite of feeder accuracy to maintain gravimetric uniformity of material at the feed auger. Acromet selects the conditioning mechanism and rotating speed to suit the application that will provide the optimum conditions with the minimum of material agitation or degradation. Various models are available and are specifically designed for difficult to handle materials. The main Feed Auger in these units is supplemented by a slowly rotating concentrically mounted conditioning auger or blade, to maintain the supply of material at a constant bulk density to the feed auger. The gentle movement of product created by a secondary auger or blade encourages flow from hopper to feed chamber, preventing bridging and rat holing and, therefore, providing consistent, reliable volumetric feeding.

Loss In Weight Feeders (Gravimetric Feeders)

The success of the Acromet COAX Volumetric Feeder, is due to the smooth pre-feed product conditioning device (which provides uniformity of discharge rate), reduces the demands on the control system for compensatory action and thus ensures smoother control with correspondingly improved accuracy. Systems are designed and engineered for optimum performance to achieve the best possible accuracy within the design parameters. Gram accuracy can be achieved in batching applications and accuracies of 0.25% or better can be achieved in continuous loss in weight systems. "Continuous Loss in Weight" Continuous monitoring and adjustment of the feed rate using closed loop microprocessor control. Simply select manually or remotely a specified flow (kg/hr) and the system will maintain and adjust the feeder to the desired set point. "Batch Loss in Weight" The feeder and hopper are continuously weighed against a pre programmed reduction in weight. Feeding ceases upon reaching the predetermined set point (g, kg, tonnes). Dual flow rate control is required to optimise accuracy when approaching the target set point weight. "Batch Gain in Weight" The feeder and hopper feed product onto a weigh platform, which is continuously weighed against a pre programmed accumulation of weight. Feeding ceases upon reaching the predetermined set point (g, kg, tonnes). Dual flow rate control is required to optimise accuracy when approaching the target set point weight. In-flight compensation is required to ensure over filling does not occur.
